All our oak gate and fence posts are available in a variety of sizes and sourced from the local surrounding areas of Kent.
Our oak is normally processed to order so please allow 2 to 4 weeks from order until completion. If you require your materials on a specific date, please contact us on 01233 820240 and speak to one of our helpful staff.
All our oak timber is supplied by a local supplier and sourced usually from the surrounding Kent area. There are usually 3 grades of oak timber, Kiln dried, construction grade and green oak which is the one most used for gate posts and fencing. There are a variety of post tops that you can have formed on the top of the post which include round top 2 or 4 way, pointed top 2 or 4 way, or just a plain square flat top.

We process a large quantity of sweet chestnut post and rail through our in-house processing facility. Posts come in 2 metre lengths, morticed for 2 or 3 rail options and come as end posts, corner posts or intermediates.

Sourced locally and cut from managed rotational woodland our sweet chestnut post and rail is the most environmentally friendly product on the market. Chestnut post and rail fencing is suitable for a number of applications such as boundaries, property entrances, parkland and paddocks. Sweet chestnut timber is often viewed as an alternative to oak and although it is a lighter specie, it is stable, hard wearing and straight grained which allows the wood to be easily split. Sweet chestnut has a very low sapwood content, a very high heartwood content and has high tannin levels (tannin is a natural preservative) and consequently requires no timber preservative treatment.

All our timber gate posts are kiln dried and pressure treated to offer long term protection against fungal and insect attack, including termites, for in-ground contact, and general exterior applications. All of our in-ground posts are treated to class UC4 to provide a 15 year service life. The green colour from the preservative weathers down to a natural brown and eventually to a natural silver grey. The weathering process does not indicate any loss of preservative.
