Chestnut Paling

Our Chestnut paling is produced from FSC certified wood and is a traditional and natural product which has been grown in Kent and East Sussex since medieval times. Its strength and appearance are amongst its qualities and it weathers down to an attractive neutral colour. Our Paling is made from split sweet chestnut held at the top and bottom by wires. Dependent upon roll height the paling comes with either two or three rows of horizontal line wires with the vertical pales spaced at 75mm apart.

Our pales have pointed tops which help shed water from the end grain and so resist rot. This also adds to security with the pointed top making the fencing very difficult to climb over. Our Paling is used in both temporary and permanent applications including soil or beach erosion control, windbreaks and snow fencing.
